I saw a video today and it instantly brought out long lost memories about this one book.
The plot of the book goes something like there are two sisters, the elder one is pretty and smart and everyone likes her and the younger one is homely and still trying to find her calling. The younger one (the main character) finds she’s really good at stitching and designing clothes. There’s also the elder sister’s boyfriend who the younger sister has a crush on.
Anna needs our book help! It sounds similar to a few recent reader questions we’ve had, but I like the detail in this one. I LOVE the sound of this one (has an almost sheltered heroine, old-school forbidden romance quality to it).

The female mc existence was hidden from the mafia world by her father. The male mc was first engaged to the female mc’s sister. The sister had been training to be the perfect mafia wife. She knew multiple languages.

So this book is about fmc living with her sister and her sister’s fiance (after her bf broke up with her maybe) and she doesn’t know him, he’s a totally new person to her.
They form a connection when the sister is at work or something (maybe her sister is a lawyer), they even go to a dart/paint throwing thing (in Brooklyn?) for artists. The MMC calls the FMC “slim”, which is a character from the movie “to have and have not” because he loves the movie.
Debe is looking for this one. I’m thinking it just might be one of those pay per chapter books, but… maybe not. Sounds pretty dramatic like the ones that have been asked about before… and GASP!!! 😮 Talk about an evil step-sister!!!
